Project Description
Rick’s Tavern & Grille is a restaurant, nightclub, & sports bar located in Fairfield, OH. Zagrun has been a partner with RT&G – running their website and marketing efforts – for over 10 years.
CHALLENGE
Bring more butts into seats
RT&G has always drawn large crowds for big events, sports games and weekend bands, but there was a need to fill the void in between these times. Lunches, weekday evenings and summers have always been slower not just for them, but for most businesses like theirs.
SOLUTION
Create events and specials that bring in the people – then tell them about it.
Starting with a basic website, we built in a way to display all the events and specials in the place so there was a one-stop location to find any info about what is happening at RT&G. On that website were options to opt-in to the email campaigns and links to social media channels. Then we collaborated with the owner to build some new events during the week, blow out some holiday parties, and introduce some fantastic specials and coupons for the customers. All of these new ideas were pushed out
Then we collaborated with the owner to build some new events during the week, blow out some holiday parties, and introduce some fantastic specials and coupons for the customers. All of these new ideas were pushed out to the existing customers and potential new visitors through email campaigns, social media channels, and paid advertising.
All of these efforts have had an effect not only on the digital numbers but also the physical sales and attendance. We raised the website visits, email open rates and banner ad click-thru’s with a strategic targeting and creative plan. Then the people around Cincinnati started coming in in droves and their sales continue to increase year-over-year.
From brand to Battle of the Bands
One of the best ideas we helped RT&G with to increase attendance on the weakest of nights – Thursday nights – was to create a local band contest. RT&G already had the space and set-up for popular weekend bands, so we leveraged this asset and asked all local, unknown bands to come in and show your stuff to a live crowd – with the winners getting cash prizes and possible band contracts. It is called Cincinnati’s Next Big Band and has been running for 7 years now – and is a smashing success that has dramatically increased the sales on Thursday nights during it’s yearly 10-week schedule.
