Animal Rescue Fund (ARF) is a fantastic animal shelter located in Amelia, OH. Zagrun helped ARF build a new, professional website to help these animals find forever homes.
CHALLENGE
Fix a broken, ugly website
ARF has always provided quality care for local animals with no homes, but their website was outdated and quite hard on the eyes. The site was very text heavy with little quality images while leveraging a small amount of space in the browser. This site needed a complete overhaul.
SOLUTION
Build a beautiful website that would attract more pet lovers.
We started off by visiting the location and doing a photo shoot of the grounds, people, and pets. A good website begins with quality content that will help tell a story and build interest. Then we worked with ARF to develop a friendly color palette and typography options to complement the brand.
Once these were complete, it was time to bust out some designs to choose from. We did about 3 design options and ARF chose the one they thought best described their mission and vision. The site was constructed in WordPress – integrating an existing ‘pet finder’ app – and launched in under a month.
ARF has continued to use the same design we built for them for the past 7 years and it seems to be doing the job.
My Personal Relationship with ARF
My name is TJ Swing, and I am the owner of Zagrun. I have personally adopted my dog Zeke from ARF over 7 years ago. Here is a pic of him when I brought him home – isn’t he a cutey? Zeke continues to lay next to me at the office every day while I work on websites for new businesses.
